Workout DVDs for the ABs
64I am the first to tell you working out the abs is so hard. It is physically and emotionally hard. I think the hardest thing is sticking to the routine of working out. I am not a gym person and a lot of people feel same way I do. I like to work out at home where it is quiet, peaceful, comfortable, and spacious. True enough there is not any personal instructors or a whole lot of gym equipment but there is a piece of mind. I have been working out for periods of two months on and off for years and you would be surprised at how the body still retains that inner muscle. Working out the mid-section is the hardest area but the results look the best. Working out helps increase endurance and strengthens the body. Having strong abs helps with the body’s balance.
The best DVDs that I have experienced are these: (These are at the intermediate level)
- Crunch’s Fat Burning Pilates. The instructor is Ellen Barrett. This is a 45 minute workout. It does not involve any weights. There are some great ab routines in there throughout the DVD. For those who want a leaner look, this dvd works well. You will do a lot of inhaling and exhaling but in a good way. It has some different moves of working the whole body but the main emphasis is on the abs. So if you are in one of those moods and you would like to work out the whole body and feel good afterwards, this is one of the many to try.
- Crunch’s Fat Burning Ab Attack is awesome. The instructor is Catherine Chiarelli. This is a 30 minute workout. There are no weights involved. Fat Burning Ab Attack is a bit up tempo and takes endurance but when you get to the end you will feel very accomplished. Some of the exercises may be little difficult but take your time and pace yourself. Once you get to the very last of the exercises, you feel an exasperating relief. What I really like about this dvd is that the participants are not perfect, they vary and plus any mistakes they make are shown. This shows you that you will make mistakes and won’t do the workout perfectly in the beginning but you will get it. It is just something about the workout that makes you feel like you have accomplished a great workout.
- Crunchless Extreme Abs is another one that is an excellent workout. The instructor is Jackie Warner. There are two 15 minute workouts. Weights are involved but there is an alternative. One of the 15 minute workouts is standing and the other one is on the floor. The standing workout is much easier than the floor. I have personally tried to do both workouts back to back and I have never done them back to back again. The exercises look easy but they are intense and they take a lot of focus. Overall, you really do feel those inner muscles working. It is a great dvd which gives you two choices and that is a good option. I suggest taking it one 15 minute workout at a time. The workouts are intense and the motivation from the instructor is exceptional.
So if you are the type that wants to workout but at a lower intensity pace and wants to build a nice inner strength to your tone abs, try one of these workouts or something similar to it. There is nothing wrong with looking nice on the outside as well as in the inside.
